🔥 How to Turn On the Hot Water

Let the kitchen faucet run for 30 seconds to check for hot water. If there is no hot water, please follow these steps below. The hot water comes from the Rinnai tankless water boiler and just needs a simple refill to reset.

Step-by-step instructions:

1. Locate the Rinnai Tankless Water Boiler in the Utility room.

2. Check the Digital Code on the display

• If it says “FILL”, it means the system needs to be refilled.

3. Fill up the Rinnai Boiler

• Right below the Rinnai boiler, locate the blue wheel valve.

Turn the blue valve LEFT (counter-clockwise) to open the water flow for 10 seconds. Once the system is filled, the water rushing sound will fade.

• Immediately close the value by turning the valve RIGHT (clockwise).

DO NOT leave the valve open - please close the valve after filling is complete.

4. System Recalibration

• The Rinnai boiler will start to re-calibrate automatically.

• Give it about 10 minutes for the recalibration process to finish, then the code will change to “GOOD”.

• Finally, run the kitchen faucet again to check for hot water.

Note: Once the code shows “GOOD”, it’s not necessary to “FILL” the Rinnai unit every time you need hot water. You’re all set!

In the winter, the baseboard is the primary heating source and it needs hot water. Hot air will start to blow from the vent under the sink 20-30min after there’s hot water again. We have supplemental heating devices placed in the fireplace and portable heaters located in the closet and bathroom cabinet.
